Future Energy Economy Possibilities on Display in Denver

Denver -- New jobs could soon arrive in Colorado that will not only stimulate the economy but improve the energy efficiency of homes throughout the state.

Unfortunately, due to a holdup of much needed Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) loans by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, more than $100 million in funds to help homeowners afford energy audits and make improvements to their homes is being held up.

Michael Bennet is working to address this problem and is pressuring the Obama Administration and Sen. Chris Dodd, Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, to take immediate action.

Yesterday, conservationist and Michael Bennet's wife Susan Daggett saw firsthand the possibilities that unlocking these PACE loans presents for Colorado by visiting a home in Denver that is benefiting from the latest technologies.

Eric Van Orden, whose company demonstrated today's home energy audit, says, "Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are standing between where Colorado is and where we could be as a leader in energy efficient homes and new energy jobs. Michael Bennet's leadership to open these loans to Colorado homeowners is a huge help in winning the fight with Freddie and Fannie."

Eric Van Orden demonstrates new technology. Susan learns more about the technologies being used.
